Funeral vehicles – traditional, non-traditional, unusual, and accessible hearses
It is of utmost importance that transportation to the funeral ceremony be timely, dignified, and composed; most obviously for the coffin and accompanying floristry, but also for the principal attendees.
At Hyndburn, our fleet of funeral vehicles caters for tastes ranging from the most traditional to more unusual options – all chauffeured by professional, uniformed and courteous drivers.
Traditional
Our fleet of matching Mercedes Benz hearses and limousines is finished in a traditional, reserved shade of black – a time-honoured standard for funeral transportation. The limousines can carry as many as seven passengers in comfort and style, ensuring you arrive, composed and prepared for the ceremony.
Alternative means of conveyance for the coffin and floral tributes include our horse-drawn hearse. The carriage is, again, finished in traditional black, and there is the option for it to be pulled by a team of either black or white horses.
Non-traditional
As with our Celebration of Life services, traditional means of funeral transportation are not ideal for all. For that reason, we offer a variety of alternative hearses, some of which may seem unusual but can be perfect for reflecting a particular aspect of your loved one’s life or character.
In the past we have supplied motorcycle with sidecar hearses, VW camper vans, Land Rovers and more. Please let us know if there is a particular kind of vehicle that you would like to source and we will do our utmost to fulfil your wishes.
Accessible
Our VW Caddy has space for a wheelchair user and chair (we can provide the chair if needed), and can comfortably seat an additional four passengers. It has been specially adapted to allow for maximum accessibility while, in all other respects, retains the dignity and style of our other funeral limousines.
The car is finished in black and is driven by an experienced, professional, uniformed chauffeur.
